Adventures in Party Planning: READING ROCKS!

Super-excited, because the Reading Rocks benefit is tomorrow morning - meaning that I will be spending all day today decorating for the shindig.  Don't you love the invite?  Aren't the cactus, tipi and chili pepper made from words super-clever for a Southwestern-themed and literacy-themed event?  Yeah, can't take credit.  But I [heart] them.  They remind me of that "Word World" show that, unfortunately, showed up on our TV dial after both boys were reading.  Too bad, because I loved the premise, but somewhat aware of the fact that an adult woman watching a show about words morphing into animate objects, without a child sitting next to her, is the definition of "pathetic," unless that woman is an early childhood educator and can pass off her viewing as "research."   Hmm, that could be a cool Word World episode:  they would display the word PATHETIC, and it would morph into ME, sitting BY MYSELF in front of a television, WATCHING WORD WORLD.  The show would be within the show.  Extremely high concept.

Anyway.  I will be sharing photos soon.  Wish us luck!
